Kate and Meghan go head-to-head with new books

The Bench, Meghan’s first children’s book, will be released next month and was reportedly influenced by Prince Harry and their baby, Archie. The book, though, will be released only a month after Kate’s own book, Hold Still.
Kate’s book Hold Still, which features photos of life during the pandemic, seems to be soaring ahead in success.
The hardcover novel is already number one on Amazon’s , Portraits of Art, Architecture, and Photography bestseller list the night before it is officially released.
At the time of publication, it was also number five on the overall bestseller chart.
Meghan’s children’s book is currently ranked 24th.
In reality, Amazon has already cut the price of the book, which follows the relationship between father and son influenced by Prince Harry and Archie, in order to sell more copies.

The book was originally £12.99, but Amazon, Waterstones, and Foyles have now reduced the price to £9.99.
Hold Still, on the other hand, which will be launched tomorrow, is still available at full price in Waterstones but has been reduced to £17.55 on Amazon.
During the first lockdown last year, Kate, 39, a keen photographer, started a campaign asking the public to upload photos that documented the period.
The Duchess of Cambridge wrote the foreword to the Hold Still journal, which contains the 100 photographs selected by the royal and a judging panel to represent the United Kingdom during the coronavirus lockdown.
Meghan’s book, on the other hand, was influenced by Prince Harry and her son Archie and features illustrations of a red-headed soldier.
The novel, which will be released concurrently in the UK and the US, was influenced by a poem she wrote for Harry on Father’s Day the month after Archie was born, according to the Duchess of Sussex, 39.
Kate’s book, which was made in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery, will be available in UK bookshops and online on May 7, one year after the project began and a month before Meghan’s.
Thousands of people sent in their images, which were divided into three categories: helpers and heroes, the new normal, and actions of kindness.
Kate brought the exhibition to the streets, with photos shown on billboards and at bus stops throughout the country, as galleries were closed for the majority of the previous year.
Kate offered readers a sneak peek inside the book yesterday, posting a photo of the inside on Instagram.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who revealed earlier today that they will be launching their own YouTube channel, posted a video to Instagram today that saw them flipping through the pages of the novel, with the caption: ‘Coming this Friday #HoldStill2020′.
The Cambridges posted a fast-paced video on Instagram that showed the various sections of the Hold Still journal, as well as some of the 100 portraits chosen.
The Duchess’ job was applauded by royal supporters, who claimed she was ‘smashing it.’ ‘Wonderful. I love the way this woman goes about her business,’ one said. one said.

Meghan revealed the title of her latest novel, The Bench, earlier this week.
“The Bench began as a poem I wrote for my husband on Father’s Day, the month after Archie was born,” Meghan said in a statement.
“That poem became this story.
“My hope is that The Bench resonates with every family, no matter the make-up, as much as it does with mine.”
Christian Robinson is the illustrator for the novel, which will be published by Random House Children’s Books.
Meghan also narrated the story’s audiobook adaptation.
A illustration of the hardback, which features a watercolour cover by award-winning artist Christian Robinson of a bench under a tree surrounded by birds, was revealed yesterday.
Her book is the latest in a long line of projects for the pair following their relocation to the United States.
They negotiated a £75 million Netflix contract and a multi-million dollar deal and Spotify, with a docuseries about the Invictus Games in the works.
