The Duke of Sussex was one of the few people who attended his grandfather Prince Philip’s low-key funeral in Windsor.

Despite his brief return to the UK, several royal watchers were concentrating on the Queen – and how, due to new coronavirus limits, she was required to sit through the emotional service alone.

A heartbroken Prince Harry could be seen gazing over to his grandma, who was seated apart from her children and grandchildren, in a recently surfaced photo.

According to Mike Tindall, the Queen remained alone at her beloved Prince Philip’s funeral to “make a stand” in unity with the world coping with the coronavirus epidemic.

The retired England rugby player, who is married to Zara Tindall, the Queen’s granddaughter, claimed the queen had been “amazing” during her darkest hour.

Tindall thinks the Duke of Edinburgh, who died earlier this month at the age of 99, would have approved of the “beautifully done” service conducted under Covid-19 limitations in St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

Since she didn’t have anybody in her household bubble from the limited guests, the Queen had to sit alone.

He said in an interview with BBC Breakfast on Friday: “Having to see the Queen make a stand in terms of having to show what the world is at the moment and sit on her own and be as brave as she was, I thought, just summed up her up as a lady.

“She was amazing.

“Then the funeral finished and it was ‘Get in your cars and go home’, but that is what is allowed, that is what the rules state, so that is what happened.

“It was tough but I thought the actual funeral was done so well that I think he will be looking down and he would have actually been happier about the way it happened.”

“They [the royals] are still very upset. They are putting on a united front for the Queen. They all think he has behaved appallingly.”

Several members of Prince Harry’s family, including Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and Sophie Wessex, barely acknowledged him at the funeral.

The Duke of Sussex, 36, is said to have experienced “a great deal of frostiness” after returning to the UK for his late grandfather’s funeral on Saturday.

Tensions are believed to be very high in the wake of Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive conversation with Oprah Winfrey.

“There is a deep sense of protection towards the Queen and resentment towards Harry,” a source told the Daily Mail. After what he and Meghan said on Oprah, there is no sympathy for him.
