Reese Witherspoon posted a series of photos of her gorgeous awards outfit — a magnificent red gown! – as she prepared to accept an award at the 93rd Academy Awards.

The Oscar winner, who won Best Actress in 2006, walked the red carpet at the 2021 event on Sunday evening in a deep crimson Christian Dior halter-neck gown. The dress was completed with a black belt with a square gold buckle and an ombré of reds, maroon, and burgundy pleats.

She kept her hair simple by sweeping her characteristic blonde tresses away from her face and finishing the outfit with sparkling drop earrings, a set of enormous rings, and a diamond bracelet, all from BVLGARI.

She wore open-toed shoes that matched her outfit and showed off her red pedicure.

The actress’ outfit astounded fans, who flocked to the comments section to express their delight. As one fan put it: “Your outfit is just ICONIC! You look stunning” while another added: “This colour red suits you so well, I’m OBSESSED!”

Reese was ecstatic about the big event. She was relaxing at home in her Oscars hoodie only hours before making her red carpet appearance. The actress even took a selfie wearing the embroidered jacket.

The actress from Big Little Lies made sure to pique viewers’ interest in the Oscars. She hinted in an Instagram Story video, “I hope you’re ready to watch because I went to rehearsals yesterday and it’s so incredibly different,” and later added, “I’m excited to be going somewhere in person.” The COVID-19 epidemic has basically shut down (or dramatically modified how) all of Hollywood’s major events for the past year, so Reese’s excitement for tonight was understandable!

Witherspoon will be attending for the first time in five years. Her sartorial legacy, of course, speaks for itself. Witherspoon wore a strapless royal purple Oscar de la Renta gown with a ruffled top and structured bodice the previous time she walked the Oscars carpet.

The 2021 Academy Awards were split between the Dolby Theatre and downtown Los Angeles’ historic Union Station due to social-distancing rules. Nominees from the United Kingdom congregated at the BFI Southbank, where the London Film Festival is normally held, and watched the performance via live broadcast.
