Senior royals are perplexed by the Duke of Sussex’s broadside about the Prince of Wales, according to The Telegraph, along with his “woeful lack of compassion” towards his own family.

After claiming that he brought Archie and Meghan to the United States to “break the cycle” of “genetic pain” from his own upbringing, a senior royal aide said it was “cruel” for the Duke of Sussex to say that his father had failed him.

The Duke of Sussex slammed Prince Charles’ upbringing during an appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast. He said that he did not want his son Archie or future daughter to suffer regardless of his own misery.

The Duke’s assertion that he had been betrayed not only by his own father, but also by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, left all three royal households reeling on Saturday.

During the interview, a source told the Daily Telegraph that Harry had “thrown others under the bus.”

““For a couple that have been at pains to set out their compassionate principles, they seem woefully lacking when it comes to their own family,” another source said.

“It’s not just the Prince of Wales but the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh as well.

“It has been met with utter bemusement.”

When making a statement about mental health, a senior aide said it was “unnecessarily cruel” to “throw others under the bus”

Harry said he needed to “break that cycle” during his lengthy chat with hosts Dax Shepard and Monica Padman.

“I don’t think we should be pointing the finger or blaming anybody, but certainly when it comes to parenting, if I’ve experienced some form of pain or suffering because of the pain or suffering that perhaps my father or my parents had suffered, I’m going to make sure I break that cycle so that I don’t pass it on, basically.

“It’s a lot of genetic pain and suffering that gets passed on anyway so we as parents should be doing the most we can to try and say, ‘You know what, that happened to me, I’m going to make sure that doesn’t happen to you.'”

“It’s hard to do but for me, it comes down to awareness..”

“I never saw it, I never knew about it, and then suddenly I started to piece it together and go ‘okay, so this is where he went to school, this is what happened, I know this about his life, I also know that is connected to his parents so that means he’s treated me the way.

Prince Harry’s overt disapproval of his grandparents, coming only a month after the Duke of Edinburgh’s death, caused particular dismay.

The royal family was also said to be upset after Harry swore twice during the interview, according to royal reports.

Charles must have been “bewildered” by Harry’s remarks, according to Royal commentator Roya Nikkah, because he did “his best” to raise him and Prince William.
