Anti-vaxxers, QAnon believers, and a slew of other conspiracy theorists have gone into overdrive as a result of Bill Gates’ split from his wife Melinda.

Over the past nine days, the QAnon campaign has been laser-focused on the Arizona election audit. But it all changed on Monday, when Bill and Melinda Gates revealed their 27-year marriage was coming to an end.

After nearly three decades of marriage, the billionaire pair announced their legal separation on social media on Monday.

Bill wrote on his verified Twitter account, “Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and build a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives.” “We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives. We ask for space and privacy for our family as we begin to navigate this new life.”

In the past, the Microsoft creator has been the target of several conspiracy theories, most recently when some people started to believe that the coronavirus vaccine was simply the software the billionaire was implanting a trackable microchip within people.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his wife have been focal points for nonsense online advertising that has exploded through social media insidiously.

QAnon followers were eager to decipher the divorce news about this central figure with the core conspiracy theory that elites are running a secret global child sex-trafficking ring. A flurry of other unfounded and grotesque conspiracies were quickly spread and encouraged on QAnon message boards and Telegram networks.

The specifics of their divorce have remained a secret, which has caused a lot of debate on how their properties were divided and what eventually motivated their decision to divorce. Believers in QAnon have also weighed in on the split, using the opportunity to spread unfounded conspiracy theories concerning Bill, COVID-19, and child sex-trafficking rings.

One of the more common theory is that Melinda Gates’ divorce is due to the fact that she is secretly a guy.

“The current version of ‘Melinda’ Gates is a dude, change my mind.” one message reads.

Another individual says: “Bill and Melinda Gates are getting a divorce. I’m sure he’s going to really miss that dude. Bill that is. ”

Twitter was awash in nonsense, including reports that Gates is about to be held on accusations of “crimes against humanity” and bizarre claims that Melinda had been substituted by an actor years before.

Others argued the divorce was a “distraction” from something nefarious going on behind the scenes, whilst others falsely believed Gates’ divorce was a ruse to help him “hide assets”.

But it was too much for one QAnon supporter, who wrote on the GreatAwakening message page, “FOR THE LOVE OF GOD – STOP POSTING ABOUT THE GATES DIVORCE.”

There were already plenty of posts regarding the news on the message board, as the poster pointed out, so there was no reason for any new ones.

According to Vice, Bill has been one of the most reviled leaders by QAnon members, a community of far-right conspiracy theorists who believe Donald Trump is rescuing the planet from a cabal of child sex traffickers. A host of QAnon supporters took to Telegram and Gab to share their theories regarding the upcoming divorce. Some suggested that Melinda started the split because she intends to leave Bill for Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious disease specialist. Bill pressed for the divorce because Melinda had been substituted by a male clone, according to another common though much more bizarre hypothesis.

Though theories differed, everyone concluded that Melinda’s survival might be jeopardized as a result of the divorce because she “knew too much” about Bill’s alleged scheme for world dominance. QAnon supporters used Bill Gates’ declaration to reaffirm their argument that Bill was the one who started the pandemic and engineered the COVID-19 vaccine to implant monitoring microchips in people.

People have often speculated that the divorce is just a ruse to secure their vast wealth. One person wrote: “FOLLOW THE MONEY. They divorce to secure some of their money, for when Bill Gates has his money seized by Trump for crimes against humanity, IMO.”

With a wealth of $123 billion, Gates is the world’s fourth richest individual, behind only Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk, and Louis Vuitton executive Bernard Arnault.

He’s been the topic of many conspiracy theories for a long time.

Others posted a video from conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who has made a number of bizarre comments about Gates in the past. Jones argues in his most popular video that Melinda Gates abandoned her husband because he was trying to “kill more people than Hitler.”

In a Reuters interview earlier this year, Bill discussed the COVID conspiracy theory, calling it “crazy” and “evil.”

“Nobody would have predicted that I and Dr. Fauci would be so prominent in these really evil theories. I’m very surprised by that. I hope it goes away,” said Bill, whose foundation has committed over a billion of dollars toward the fight against coronavirus. “But do people really believe that stuff?. We’re really going to have to get educated about this over the next year and understand … how does it change peoples’ behavior and how should we have minimized this?”

The managing director of NewsGuard in Europe, Anna-Sophie Harling, told The Sun Online: “If you’re a conspiracy theorist trying to pin down a single individual who is controlling global events, Gates is the ideal candidate.

“He’s one of the richest people in the world, and is seen by many as a ruthless businessman who has developed an inexplicable interest in public health.

“He controls a large chunk of global health funding — and not just around vaccines.

” Videos of Gates speaking about all sorts of topics can be easily used to convince social media users that he planned or engineered the Covid-19 pandemic for his own interest — in order to make money from vaccine sales, to surveil entire societies through vaccine microchips, or to push a global depopulation agenda.

“The fact that he is so outspoken about a wide range of topics gives a huge amount of ammunition to anyone wishing to suggest there is a sinister side to his philanthropism.”
