Ray J and Princess Love are currently working on their relationship.

According to records acquired by Page Six from the Los Angeles Superior Court, the “Sexy Can I” singer has agreed to withdraw the divorce case he filed against his reality star wife last year.

Ray J filed a motion in the Superior Court of Los Angeles on Feb. 16 to dismiss the divorce case without prejudice, which means the couple is free to file for divorce again. In September 2020, Ray J, whose actual name is William Ray Norwood Jr., filed for divorce.

Fans may not be surprised by the news because Ray said a few weeks ago that they were planning a permanent relocation to Miami in order to start again, but that they were taking things one day at a time.

The couple has been embroiled in turmoil since at least May of last year. That’s when Love filed for divorce from Ray for the first time.

In May, a spokesman for the couple told PEOPLE, “It’s a very difficult time for both Princess and Ray J and we are asking that we just let them have their privacy as they work through and deal with this very trying situation”

Page Six originally claimed that the couple quickly reconciled and called it off by mid-summer. In July 2020, Love, 36, had the case dropped.

The couple married in August 2016 and are parents to a 2-year-old daughter, Melody Love, and 1-month-old son, Epik Ray Norwood.

‘We’re in a good place right now, we’re in Miami, we’re gonna move down to Miami, I don’t think we’re going back to Los Angeles any time soon. We’ve been taking care of the kids, they love it out here, and it’s given us a different mood and outlook on life. God is good, we’re taking it one day at a time,’ Ray said on TMZ Live last month.

Ray J tweeted a sweet message for Love’s birthday after Love’s July court filing, and it appeared the Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood stars had reunited — but he suddenly filed for divorce himself in mid-September.

Ray J, 40, talked with ET in September and revealed why he filed for divorce after the couple often broadcast their marital ups and downs on social media. Princess alleged in September 2019 that he abandoned her and their daughter in Las Vegas, which he denied.

Ray J told ET at the time, “You know, I love her and I love my babies and it’s just personal, but she knows how I feel about her. I just think that I want to make sure everybody is happy, that everybody enjoys life and that this can help her smile more and enjoy who she is and enjoy her life. You know, sometimes it’s the best thing to do.”

“It’s still so early, I really don’t know what’s going to happen, how it happens, but I just want to make sure that my babies and my Princess is in a great place mentally and that they can enjoy life,” he continued. “My wife, if there’s somebody better out there that she wants to be with, then I have to respect that as well. But hey, I don’t know… I can’t say too much, but I love you, Princess. That’s what I can say.”

Ray subsequently remarked on “The Wendy Williams Show,” “I love you, Princess, and look, it didn’t happen like that. I would never leave my baby and my wife. I would die first before I leave them on the side of the road.”

Love and Melody “were at the hotel [in Vegas], and that’s what she considers stranded,” he added, but confessed he was “wrong” throughout the episode, which was documented on social media.

“Look, she’s right, I’m not even going to defend it,” he declared. “Baby, I was wrong. You are right.”

Ray J said later that month, only weeks after filing for divorce, that he was reconsidering his original refusal to attend to marriage counseling with Love. The singer had also requested shared custody of the couple’s two children at the time.
