Tom Cruise was heard shouting at crew members on the set of the latest “Mission: Impossible” film in London, and the tape has gone viral. The actor, who is also the film’s producer, can be heard yelling at the team for failing to observe COVID-19 safety rules.

The 58-year-old actor, who plays Ethan Hunt in the Mission: Impossible film series, is said to have lost his cool after noticing two crew workers standing less than two meters apart at a computer station.

Tom Cruise informed the Mission: Impossible 7 crew that if they didn’t follow safety guidelines, they’d be “f–king gone.”

In an audio recording acquired by The Sun on Tuesday, December 15, the actor, 58, was apparently heard stating, “They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us. I’m on the phone with every f–king studio at night, insurance companies, producers. They are looking at us and using us to make their movies. We are creating thousands of jobs, you motherf–kers.”

“I don’t ever want to see it again, ever! And if you don’t do it, you’re fired. I have told you, and now I want it, and if you don’t do it, you’re out. We are not shutting this f***ing movie down! Is it understood? if I see you do it again, you’re fucking gone. And if anyone in this crew does it – that’s it, and you too and you too … don’t you ever fucking do it again.”

“That’s it! No apologies. You can tell it to the people that are losing their fucking homes because our industry is shut down. It’s not going to put food on their table or pay for their college education.”

Due to the pandemic, Mission: Impossible 7 has been impeded, as have many big Hollywood projects, by potentially catastrophic delays and shutdowns. Production in Italy was halted in February after authorities banned public gatherings in response to the first wave of coronavirus, but in July permission was given for shooting to restart in the UK after Cruise personally appealed to culture secretary Oliver Dowden. However, in July, clearance was granted for shooting to resume in the UK. Filming in Italy was once again halted in October following allegations of a positive Covid test on set.

“Out of an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being of our cast and crew, and efforts of the local Venetian government to halt public gatherings in response to the threat of coronavirus, we are altering the production plan for our three-week shoot in Venice, the scheduled first leg of an extensive production for Mission: Impossible 7,” a Paramount spokesperson said in February. “During this hiatus we want to be mindful of the concerns of the crew and are allowing them to return home until production starts. We will continue to monitor this situation, and work alongside health and government officials as it evolves.”

It’s unknown when the audio was captured. London was placed on “Tier 3: Very High Alert” on Wednesday, which means that further restrictions are in place, including the closure of bars, pubs, and restaurants except for takeaway, the closure of theaters, and the prohibition of indoor social gatherings.

Tom’s reaction is reminiscent of past egregious outbursts by A-list celebrities, such as Christian Bale, who notoriously shouted at a staff member while filming Terminator Salvation in 2008 after they reportedly broke his focus by stepping onto set.

The release date for Mission: Impossible 7 was originally set for July 23, 2021, however it was moved back to November 19, 2021.
