Zo Kravitz is returning to her old swagger at her Thanksgiving table. On Instagram, the actress posted a picture of her new pixie cut with the comment “hair [scissor emoji].” It’s a classic Kravitz style that she’s resurrected just in time for the holidays.

Kravitz is perched on her bed in the photo, wearing a white spaghetti-strap tank top and various gold jewelry pieces, making her overall appearance ultra-chic and lovely. If anything, her dramatic makeover demonstrates that short hair isn’t simply a summer look and can be readily sported during the chilly winter months.

It’s the shortest hair the Fantastic Beasts star has worn in a long time, but she’s no stranger to the pixie look. Kravitz has gone for a close-crop look this time, with a lot of texture on top and a jagged, loose feel to the front. They’re the cutest baby bangs ever, and she looks stunning with them.

Nikki Nelms, Kravitz’s hairdresser, is tagged in the Instagram image. She’s been responsible for some of Kravitz’s most memorable hairstyles, including the bleach blonde braids she wore for an Allure cover in 2017. Nelms has also collaborated with Yara Shahidi and Janelle Monáe.

Nelms told Refinery29 at the time that she wanted to give Zo a “edgy” cut, especially because she previously had blonde hair.

“Edgy is in the eye of the beholder. But to me, I think her haircut is edgy. It’s really cool and carefree and funky. You can do a lot with it. It’s versatile,” the celebrity hairstylist shared. “When she was blonde, you were able to see the texture in it because there was more length. Now it’s sleek and darker. It’s still pixie and cute and short, but the blonde gave it a little more.”

The timing makes perfect sense. Not only has she been cast as Catwoman in the next Batman film, alongside Robert Pattinson in the lead role, but it also means she can concentrate on Thanksgiving meal without her hair getting in the way.
