For decades, Jennifer Aniston has sported the straight and sleek style. Aniston, however, has highly curly hair, according to her hairdresser. This is stunning news given she’s only ever worn her hair straight. We’ve seen it wavy on the beach on occasion. And there was that time, at the end of her Friends career, when she wore her hair crimped and disheveled on the red carpet with Brad Pitt, the heartthrob. But, other than that, it’s always sleek and straight.

Even “The Rachel,” her on-screen Friends character’s signature appearance, was straight with a curve inwards. It nicely framed her face, yet the hair was straight. So…the what’s deal with this purportedly curly hair? Chris McMillan, Aniston’s hairdresser, has some answers.

Aniston stunned viewers with a peek of her natural waves during the launch of her new Apple TV+ show, The Morning Show.

For the occasion, Aniston chose to show off her natural texture, flaunting her easy beachy waves. Chris McMillan, the star’s longtime hairdresser, revealed her look on Instagram, emphasizing how unusual it is to see her hair that way.

“This was such an honor to be a part of. The hair is Jens natural curl and waves,” he stated in the caption of the photo.

Mullets are reportedly making a comeback (thanks to Billie Eilish), so perhaps Aniston will follow suit. However, it’s possible that this isn’t the case. Regardless, we’re digging this behind-the-scenes peek at Aniston’s natural hair.

According to McMillan, the appearance is virtually entirely natural.

McMillan achieved the look by letting her hair air dry somewhat and then “touching up minimally” using a Dyson Supersonic dryer by blow-drying her roots in one direction. He ended by adding detangling spray and leave-in conditioner and “touching up random pieces” with a GHD Wave Iron.

Fans loved to Aniston’s wavy hair, as predicted. The star’s natural texture has received a lot of appreciation in the comments on her Instagram photo. One user said, “This is without a doubt one of my favorite hairstyles, I’m in love with her hair, it’s always so beautiful!”

Others expressed a desire to see this more frequently. “Just incredible!!! We need to see more of the natural hair look ,” they said.

Her sloppy stylish waves at the premiere of The Morning Show aren’t the only time she’s rocked the style recently. Aniston looked to be sporting her natural texture during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. In a humorous twist, McMillan was even mentioned on the show, as Aniston and Colbert joked about her hair from Friends while mocking the series’ Lego set.

Aniston recently told Glamour magazine about how she first found her curls. “I love my hair when it’s straight,” she said. “When I was a little girl, I had really long, straight hair to my bum—below my bum, actually. And then when my mom gave me the authority to do anything I wanted with my hair, mistakenly, I cut it all off. I could never grow it back. And then when I cut it short, I discovered it was curly.”

While Aniston is ready to try different hairstyles now and again, there is one look she would never try. She said in the October 2019 edition of InStyle, “I’m not going to lie — I don’t want grey hair.”
