Oprah Winfrey’s Golden Globes speech may have sparked calls for her to run for president, but it’s far from the first time her name has been mentioned as a candidate for high office. In fact, when Donald Trump was considering a presidential run a little over 18 years ago, he mentioned her as a possible running mate.

“Oprah. I love Oprah. Oprah would always be my first choice. Oprah. Oprah, you’re competitor, right?” Trump said during a meandering interview with Larry King in 1999, which was shared on Twitter by the website UPROXX on Monday.

He described her as a “really great woman” and a “a terrific woman.” Mr. Trump told King, “She is somebody that is very special.”

“If she’d do it, she’d be fantastic. I mean, she’s popular, she’s brilliant, she’s a wonderful woman. I mean, if she would ever do it. I don’t know that she would ever do it.”

“She’d be sort of like me,” Trump said, comparing himself to Winfrey. “I mean, I have a lot of things going, she’s gotta a lot of things going.”

He stuck to his guns, repeating it again shortly after announcing his candidacy in 2015.

“I think Oprah would be great. I’d love to have Oprah,” Trump said during an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. “I think we’d win easily, actually.”

In the 2016 election, however, Trump would not receive Winfrey’s support. “There really is no choice, people,” Winfrey remarked less than a month before Election Day on T.D. Jakes’ self-titled talk program. “All the people sitting around, talking about [how] they can’t decide, here’s what I want to say.”

“You get in conversations — and there’s not a person in this room who hasn’t been in the same conversation — where people say, ‘I just don’t know if I like her,'” she said, referring to Hillary Clinton. “She not coming over your house!

“You don’t have to like her,” Winfrey added as the audience cheered. “You don’t have to like her. Do you like this country? Do you like this country? You better get out there and vote.”

At the annual Globes event, the queen of TV talk was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille award, and she complimented the press for its coverage of sexual harassment and abuse allegations leveled against a slew of prominent but pervy men in politics, the entertainment business, and the media.

“I want to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press Association because we all know the press is under siege these days. We also know it’s the insatiable dedication to uncovering the absolute truth that keeps us from turning a blind eye to corruption and to injustice,” she said, clearly referring to the top critic of the press.

“To tyrants and victims, and secrets and lies. I want to say that I value the press more than ever before as we try to navigate these complicated times, which brings me to this: What I know for sure is that speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we all have.”

Many people on the internet urged she run for president in 2020 after her stunning speech at the Golden Globes.

It takes a dick head to have nuts hanging by him. Oprah would have taken up both the nuts hanging on to that Trump dick.
