According to a co-star, Shia LaBeouf cut his face with a knife to create believable combat wounds for his movie, Fury. In an interview with GQ, Logan Lerman uncovers troubling facts about LaBeouf’s rigorous “method” preparation, as reported by the Press Association.

“We were in make-up and they were putting cuts on Shia and I said, ‘Yeah, yeah, it looks good,’” recalled Lerman, 22. “And Shia was like, ‘No it doesn’t look real.’”

What occurred next surprised the 22-year-old. “He walks out into the hallway and says, ‘Hey man, wanna see something fun? Check this out…’ and he takes out a knife and cuts his face,” Lerman continued.

“For the whole movie he kept opening these cuts on his face. That’s all real.”

The young actor seemed to praise LaBoeuf’s dedication. “I f—king love it!” he said.

Shia, of course, did not stop there. Logan also said that the troubled 28-year-old actor had a doctor remove one of his teeth on purpose, presumably to help him get more into character.

Brad Pitt also praised Shia LaBeouf.

“Oh, I love this boy,” Pitt gushed. “He’s one of the best actors I’ve ever seen. He’s full-on commitment, man. He’s living it like no one else, let me tell you.”

According to reports, LaBeouf, 28, purposefully did not shower during filming and learned to operate the tank expertly.

“He really spent every moment on set,” Lerman said. “He’s the guy operating the turret in every shot, even when you don’t need to be in there as an actor. You know, you can have somebody else inside. But he was there, for every shot.”

Shia’s A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints co-star Channing Tatum recounted Shia’s crazy on-set antics in May, including the two acting like “eighties hoodlums.”

“Me and Shia, I think we had just met that day. We were, like, ‘What shall we go out and do?’ We were drinking. And I think our initial thing was ‘Alright, let’s go out and try and get in a fight.’ This was just young dumb idiot actors thinking that that’s going to bond us,” Channing told GQ. “I think Shia even punched a cop car — we weren’t even sure if the cop was in the car, he punched the window of a cop car. It was pandemonium. It was just one of those nights that the volume just keeps getting turned up, turned up, turned up.”

“I’ve never seen him since then,” he added. “The kid’s an incredible actor… I just wish that he would just act. Just act, man!”

Earlier this year, LaBeouf donned a paper bag to the Berlin Film Festival premiere of Lars Von Trier’s Nymphomaniac, reacted to plagiarism allegations by employing a skywriter, and was arrested and charged with disorderly behavior at a New York theater last month.
